Awesome food! Pastrami piled high on a burger- doesn't get any better. Fries are good, too.

I've had this place bookmarked and finally made it by to try the pastrami sandwich I have heard so much about. The menu offers a selection of things from burgers to chicken to gyros. I sort of freaked out when I didn't see the pastrami sandwich on the menu so I asked about it and the girl taking my order said it's always available it's just not on the menu. Maybe there's a secret menu? If so I'm all for it because the pastrami sandwich lived up to the hype I heard about. The bread was fantastic and the taste of the pastrami just as much. I was pleased about the amount of pickles and mustard they put on the sandwich. My wife was eating something else because she thought this place only served burgers. After trying a bite of my pastrami sandwich she had the nerve to ask for another bite! I let her have the nub I had left of the first half. I got the meal as a combo and the fries that came with the sandwich were effing delicious. They put some sort of spice or something on the fries and they were hot and fresh without being too greasy. I will need a large order of the fries next time because there will indeed be a next time.

The wait was a little long but a mere price to pay for a fresh meal. I had a gyro and my son had a bacon cheeseburger. Real gyro meat and bacon. But the big daddy of all, the Apollo burger is apparently a burger topped with pastrami and its waiting in the bag for OUR big daddy to try it. Looks delish! This place is worth a stop for sure!

Terrible! A total of 4 tables present at 830pm on a Wednesday evening and my order took 30 minutes. I ordered the gyro and fries. The pita was hard and the meat was greasy and everything was cold. When I asked for a Manager they said there isn't one. They didn't have a business card or point of contact except the Supervisor who then directed me to the website. That is how I am suppose to get ahold of Management?! This is completely unacceptable! I enjoy Apollo burger but complaining on Yelp is how my concern is to be resolved?!? Unbelievable!!!!

I had the Golden Burger which was the Apollo (pastrami) burger on a garlic toast bun. It was pretty good, but the pastrami was a little chewy. I like how roomy the eating area is, and their menus and ads are very slick and modern. It has an upscale trendy ambiance. I would say its probably pretty comparable to other burgers in town, so if you like Smashburger, In-n-out, Five Guys, etc. you'll probably enjoy it.

Good stuff! excellent veggie burger (with spicy black beans, and other stuff), better than just your standard veggie hockey puck out of the freezer into the deep fryer.....fries were fresh and hot, and my son had a 'concrete' which was uber-generous (get a small, it'll be over the top, literally!)....fresh made food, done fast, not "fast food"

Having come from SLC and eating Apollo burger for years it is nice to have one close to home again

The portions are very generous and it was good but not mind blowing. The menu offers no descriptions and virtually no photos. So I have to ask. "What's a Golden Burger? And what's the difference between a Western Bacon Cheeseburger and a Bacon Cheeseburger?" It just seems a little foolish to make people guess about the ingredients in your sandwiches. The raspberry shake was very good and the onion rings were too but the burgers, they didn't really thrill me. 2013 #150 / 365

We skipped habit, in-n-out and chilli to get here. Awesome burger and fries with speedy services. It is a very good choice

Super customer service while I was there. They were so nice in helping me decide what I wanted. I do wish that their menu listed what was on each burger and sandwich though. The burger I got I added avocado and it was yummy! Not to mention their fries and fry sauce are delicious! I was asking about thousand island dressing and they only had fry sauce but the worker that brought us our food even offered to go get some fry sauce and bring it to me. All in all it was a great experience. Will probably be back again soon!

A year later in St. George, and I was again presented for lunch with an excellent moist Pastrami Sandwich with pickles and mustard, accompanied by good Fries. The surprise this date was an order of excellent crunchy battered Onion Rings, dipped in Squaw Sauce or ketchup. Others in my party enjoyed a juicy Gyro Sandwich, a Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich filled with meaty chicken, and a large Double Cheeseburger sporting a sesame seed-topped bun. Service was friendly and helpful. And, the cooking of orders was swift. The only drawback was that initially the order taker forgot to bring one Chocolate Shake. However, once brought to her attention this error was quickly made up for with an enormous shake replacement. The casual atmosphere of the cavernous dining room was pleasant, other than the one nettlesome fly that for a time hovered about our food.

Almost drove past here thinking it was just another burger place but was caught way off guard. Their burgers and prices are way to good. I love their menu especially the golden burger and mushroom swiss. Their fries beats anyone else's in the area. Not only do they sell burgers but sandwiches, Greek, and salads.

Oh where do I start? Warning, this is a big review with lots to say. You may want to have a seat. Upon walking in my wife and I noticed, as others have mentioned, that there are no item descriptions on the above head menu board. With a little looking around we discovered some, to go type, menus on the counter, behind a bush. After figuring out what was what on the burgers and other things on the menu we decided on our order. I got the 3 piece fish and chips with a side salad. My wife ordered the pastrami burger and fries. We agreed on fried mushrooms and zucchini to try as well. Our order came to our table, this is where it all goes kinda south. The mushrooms and zucchini were good enough. The burger was "ok" we have had much better. The fries on both or orders were, well, I really don't know how to describe them. Um, cold'ish, dry and just run of the mill. Now, this is where it goes really south. The three piece fish platter came out with two pieces. No big deal. Mistakes happen. When brought to the attention of the kid who took our order, who is now busing tables, he apologized then went back to check into it. He returned with the explanation that they had ran out of fish and offered a free side to replace the missing fish. Seemed fair enough. We chose the four piece chicken tender side dish. The kid helping us then informed us that the four piece chicken side is only supposed to have three pieces, not four as printed on the take out type menu we still retained. After getting it all sorted out, having all of our food choices in front of us our conclusion is simply that this is just an OK place to eat. No frills or over the top great tasting food. We were content but not excited for a return visit. UNTIL, I noticed one of the staff bring vinegar over to a table that had just sat down. Hmmmmm, I ask my wife. Isn't that vinegar that you would put on fish? She agreed, it certainly looked like it. At about this point I am really starting to feel duped and pretty agrivated! Why would he need that? Maybe it's for his fries, I've done it. I like it in fact. Nope, guess what, the gentleman had a full three piece fish platter. How could this be I say in my head. Would they have intentionally lied straight to my face? No, well yes, that is exactly what they did. Needless to say I, my wife, my kids, my family members, anyone I have the ability to sway in a conversation and hopefully any of you reading this review will never eat at this establishment. Had I not been lied to maybe I could have been coaxed into returning, maybe. But not now, not ever. I have never wished ill will towards any eating establishment, until now. The fact that they are still open is intolerable, this town will be better off when they close the doors for good! I hope really hope this review helps somebody avoid a bad experience. The choice is now up to you to make. Choose wisely.

Ordered the Apollo Burger. The pastrami was about 50% disgusting squishy fat. Had to open it up and remove most of it. Other than that it was good service, clean, and a decent burger.

I Was traveling through St. George last week on my way to Cedar City from Las Vegas with a craving for Chic Fil A. Fortunately I turned the wrong way on Bluff Street and saw Apollo Burger while I was turning around. I remembered Apollo Burger from my childhood and instantly changed my mind. It was just as good as i remembered and I now have a new spot to stop at in St George when I'm driving through.

I like Apollo Burger. There is plenty of space inside so you don't feel crowded when you're eating. I have had the following: Spicy Black Bean Burger Banana Shake Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich Apollo Burger Fries Corn Dog All of the items I had were excellent except the black bean burger which I thought was a little on the mushy side. The veggie burger at Burger King is still the best of that sort I have had. If you like a grilled ham and cheese, this is the place to go!

Note: I AM A VEGETARIAN! After being disappointed with the veggie-burger at the Smashburger across the street, I was happy to see that Apollo Burger had finally opened last week, and I knew from their web page that they did have a veggie-burger option. I got there just a few days after their grand opening, at a little after 4PM on a Thursday. It was somewhat busy, but plenty of open seating, and just a one minute wait before I was able to place my order. While I am a vegetarian, I do like cheese, onions, etc. so I basically ordered their Mushroom-Swiss burger, with the vegetarian black-bean patty instead of meat. Unfortunately, it wasn't easy for her to ring it up that way, so she placed the order as a 'Spicy Black Bean Burger' but with grilled mushrooms & Swiss cheese. I also ordered a side of fries and a drink, so she rang it up as a 'combo,' which apparently saved me some $. Even though I ordered the fries, the cashier asked me if I'd like to try their onion rings. I thought her timing was kind of strange -- not sure if they're pushing the onion rings for some reason, or what. Since I was (as usual) very hungry, knew I'd be writing this review, and was a little curious about the onion rings too, I did decide to order a side of onion rings in-addition to the fries. Total bill came to $14.54. I think for a place like this, that's too much $$, even if you consider I ordered two sides, though next time I'd only order one side anyway. My food was delivered to me about 10 minutes after I'd paid for my order. The delivery person (they're not waiter/waitresses, as she didn't ask me if I needed anything else) didn't bring any napkins, so I had to go hunt them down (there was a small stack on the far end of the counter). The burger was great -- unlike across the street at Smashburger, the vegetarian Black Bean burger patty Apollo uses actually has seasoning and flavor to it beyond just a plain old bean taste! The balance of flavors -- black bean patty plus mushrooms plus Swiss cheese -- was perfect. It also had a tomato slice on it, which I removed. The fries were also good, though just a basic, french-fried medium-thick cut potato with sprinkled salt flavor similar to what you'd get at Wendy's. The onion rings, which cost $3.99, was definitely a big pile of them! They were crisp and not at all greasy, yet I think on a scale of 1 - 5, the onion flavor was only a 2 -- I would have preferred more of an onion flavor instead of a minor onion & batter combined flavor. I ended up dipping the onion rings in a lot of ketchup to create more of a flavor. My fountain drink was OK -- they have the usual selection of sodas, a couple ices teas, and juice, all self-served. One thing that I found to be very strange -- Apollo Burgers has self-serve fry sauce (it's a Utah thing...) your can put into little plastic cups, but if you want ketchup or mustard, at least the day I was there, you have to grab some of the little foil packets of packets of it, instead of containers at each table or even a self-serve container at the counter. I thought this was very strange for a burger place, and a minor annoyance. Maybe their planned ketchup & mustard dispensers hadn't been delivered yet? All in all, I will definitely be back. I strongly prefer their black bean burger to that of Smashburger. It will be interesting to see if the local market is big enough to support both Smashburger & Apollo Burger, especially since they're both in strip-malls pretty much directly across the street from each other, *and* there are many other places with good burgers right there (5 Guys, Chili's) & other just a couple miles away (Red Robin & In & Out). With all those other potential destinations for me, Apollo Burger wins out over Smashburger, but otherwise, it's going to depend on my mood. I'll definitely be back to Apollo though.

This place has burgers, gyros, and steak sandwiches. I tried the gyro on my first visit. It was pretty average in a good way. Today I tried out the original Apollo burger. It comes with lettuce, onion, cheese, special sauce, and pastrami piled on top. I was skeptical upon delivery because there was too much pastrami to take a bite it was so big. Of course, that means I had to eat the majority of the pastrami by itself to make the burger manageable. I was impressed! Really good pastrami. I left a little on top and then commenced with the grub-down. In short: pretty darn tasty! The special sauce is just like fry sauce and some of the best I've tasted. The burgers are now officially Fat Kid approved!

Good location. Clean. Fresh. Lots of space. I like eating lunch here because I don't have to sit so close to people that I'm in their conversation. If you're on River Road or near the Zion Factory Outlets stop by to gets some.

They have fry sauce! That's always a plus in my book. I got the grilled ham and cheese and it hit the spot. Their onion rings are the frozen not good rings. That was a let down. Overall good food. Clean place. I liked it!

Burger isn't quite as good as their SLC locations but still the best I can think of in St George. Love Apollo fries and sauce. Only weird experience was the drink machines were weirdly calibrated, but staff was friendly, location clean and bright, and centered right in the middle of some great shopping.

I am not a fast food person for many reasons, but my hubby plied me with their gyros....and I love my gryos. We ate there today. Great location, size, cleanliness, service. I had the gryo platter...with fries and a side salad and a drink. All were fine....except the gyro. I've never had a saltier gryo, but what made me feel ill (and I still do as this was just over an hour ago) was the amount of grease that poured out of it. I've NEVER had a greasy gyro. The grease soaked through the paper and literally POURED out of the gyro. Hubby and I guessed about 1/8 th of a cup of grease. How much did I consume? I don't know, but I do feel nausea. I also adore tzatziki sauce and make my own. I don't know what they use, but it was over much on something too tangy. The lemon juice.....we also wondered if there was a bit of vinegar in it. It was hands down the worst tzatziki ever. I give two stars for the good points listed above. The food? No way. never again...

Everything I've tried on the menu has been great so far. My wife loves the Chicken Slovaki (poor spelling) and I like the Greek salad with gyro lamb meat. My friends go for the burgers. This place has become one of our favorite places in St George

The restaurant seem to be fast food but you really can order and enjoy your meal. Large restaurante and the have lots of tables and chairs. It is American food mixed with Greek food, I wish the decoration inside was Blue and White since have Greek influence to it. They have really Tasty burgers and the service is fast , the keep the place very clean . The owner works with every one in the kitchen and he is very friendly .

Amazing food. Best Gyro in town by a country mile. The Greek Salad is also excellent. Most of all however, the owner (who is always there working) is amazingly kind, and practices the long lost art of real customer service. He should teach classes. Even if the food was subpar (which it is not), if come back for him alone.

Pastrami sandwich is exceptional. Home made onion rings and deep fried mushrooms completed the atery-clogging night out. Honestly - the pastrami is very good here, and the other offerings looked equally tasty. We'll be back.
